In fact, it's a pleasure to see a real film director like Gerard Oury spending the producer's money so lavishly and well. In fact, some of the stunts are almost unbelievable, but we see them happening with our own eyes – and on real locations and with hundreds of extras too! Adroit film editing also adds a lot to our entertainment. Even the direction becomes more amusing and super-delightfully extravagant, while the budget becomes suddenly more and more expensive and expansive.
Nevertheless, it's still a bit of a pain until the introduction of super-charming Silvia Monti, at which point it definitely picks up, not only in Miss M's physical attractiveness, but in the level of the farce itself. In fact, the film was actually filmed in two versions. It's fortunate that the other main players – including the delightful Bourvil – speak their own English lines. An obviously dubbed voice for Jean-Paul Belmondo doesn't help matters. True, Gerard Oury's direction is rather inventive, but the acting tends to be so heavy-handed that it smothers the jokes (such as they are). If you're not interested in those things, or allergic to dust Don't visit it.This is the sort of film the critics love to label "a witless farce", and certainly for the first 30 minutes or so, this description would be fair enough. If you love old race models, and love for motorcycles and airplanes. Simple little displays with directions where to go. Put new bulb lights into the place, paint the walls that have water damage, clean the dust of the motorcycles, in the court yard set up a little bar, with the wine of the vineyards that surrounded this beautiful place. This place as great potential, the 12 euro's should have been used to have someone put a little love into this place. Dust was growing on the glass casting in every room with model car, planes, motorcycles and everything that had wheels on it. This was for every part of this museum / private collection. Next to it was an old attic with a bounce of motorcycles stuffed together collecting dust and not even with information about what it was, year or anything. Like the floor or lamps on the cars to light up the beauty of these cars. we walking into this building with old racing cars and model race cars I was missing the upkeep of this building. We was pretty excited to go to this castle. Too bad, the place itself is great and the experience can easily be improved ( by being more honest and not so greedy :) ) oh, and by the way, contrary to any other place I have ever seen, it's actually more expensive to buy mustard from here, from the actual FACTORY than from nearby shops. We did get 2 very small jars of mustard at the end, but I would have liked to actually have a tasting session, as was advertised.
The visit was supposed to include tasting at the end, it didn't. It would be nice to add that on the website when making reservations and maybe have a few euros discount. So you pay for it, but you don't actually get to see it. But it seems that on Friday afternoons, that's out of the question, because they close it off for cleaning. You pay for a 'live' visit of the process, meaning that you should be seeing how they actually make the mustard. Essentially, you have a nice tour for half of the time and the other half.well, you wait. There were both French and English speaking people in the group, so instead of having 2 different visits, they grouped us all together and the guide was explaining stuff in French, then making all the French speaking people wait for 5-10 minutes just staring at the wall (there was some stuff around to read, but you would finish reading everything in 2 minutes and then just sit there waiting), while she was explaining it in English, then making the English speaking people wait and so on. The place has enormous potential, but I was disappointed with the visit.
